Coachella Music Festival – Coachella, CA, United States

This 3-day music festival occupies 5 stages every year with hundreds of musicians from all over the globe to cater to its diverse audience. This year, Ray and I saw Benny Benassi, deadmau5, Jay-Z, Passion Pit, Band of Skulls, Bassnectar, Camera Obscura, Corinne Bailey Rae, David Guetta, Hot Chip, MGMT, Tiesto, and Z-trip. The only downside is some artists that you may want to see might be playing at the same time (which is the cause of us not seeing every artist we wanted to enjoy).

This event also prides itself on being earth friendly. They had a recycling bin decoration contest before the event and the recycling bins were strategically placed across the field. See an empty water bottle on the ground? Pick up 10 of those and take them to the water booth in exchange for a free bottled water to hydrate yourself throughout the day. Want to power a DJ booth? Go to the energy booth and ride the stationary bikes or the see-saw.

There is no time for boredom at this event. Check out the different art installations they have while you’re waiting for your artist to play. Ray and I stayed at the pyromaniacs corner. A huge clear tube blasts a tornado of fire every few minutes is enough for us to be entertained. You can also go to the various tents set up by different companies. Test out all the new games at the Playstation tent, hydrate yourself in style at the Oddwalla tent, or energize yourself at the Redbull tent.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go to the campgrounds to play pinball or roller skate at their rink. There was just so much to see, and we only went for 2 days! If you decide to join the fun, a third day is not a bad idea.
